Terms of Service

The rules for using PixelPlot and displaying your brand on the board.

Last updated:

1. About PixelPlot and these terms

PixelPlot is an independently operated project that provides a public, isometric board where people and brands can display names, buildings, logos, and website links. In these terms, “PixelPlot,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of this project. Contact us at [email protected].

These terms govern your use of PixelPlot. By creating an account or continuing to a checkout after being presented with these terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account, submit content, or complete a checkout. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to create an account or claim a plot. If you act for a brand or another person, you must have permission to act on their behalf.

Clerk provides account creation, sign-in, and session management. Keep your account information accurate and your sign-in methods secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Never share another person’s account or impersonate a person or brand.

3. What a plot claim provides

A plot claim gives your account the ability to manage a digital display space within PixelPlot, subject to the selected package, these terms, and the continued operation of the service. It does not transfer land, shares, copyright in PixelPlot, an NFT, or an investment interest. We do not promise traffic, advertising results, profit, resale value, or perpetual hosting.

The selected package determines the footprint and available content options. Prices and availability can change before a reservation is confirmed; a valid reservation locks the quoted price for its stated period. Reservations expire and do not themselves grant a plot. A claim is confirmed only after PixelPlot verifies the checkout result.

Expansion claims display a logo on the relevant outer grass wall for that expansion cycle. When a new cycle begins, the previous cycle’s logos leave the board, while claim history remains. An expansion does not give ownership of all the new building plots it opens.

4. Payments through Polar

On the live PixelPlot website, plot and expansion purchases are real-money, one-time transactions through Polar, not automatically renewing subscriptions. Review your selected package, plot location, price, currency, and any applicable taxes before completing checkout.

Polar provides the hosted checkout. For real-money transactions offered through Polar, Polar acts as merchant of record and authorized reseller, handling payment collection and applicable transaction taxes. PixelPlot remains responsible for providing the digital service. Polar’s Buyer Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy govern its checkout services.

Returning from checkout alone does not confirm fulfillment. PixelPlot verifies the payment result before granting your claim. If a checkout appears completed but your claim is missing, contact us before trying to pay again.

Separately identified development or sandbox environments use test payments only. No real money is charged there, test claims may be reset, and they do not entitle you to a paid plot on the live service.

5. Billing problems and refunds

Purchases are generally final. We do not offer refunds solely for a change of mind, an unused plot, or dissatisfaction with traffic or advertising results, except where applicable law or Polar’s buyer terms require otherwise.

We review refund requests for genuine billing or delivery problems, such as a duplicate or incorrect charge, an unauthorized payment, a paid claim that was not delivered, or a material technical defect that prevents use and cannot reasonably be resolved. Contact [email protected] with your order reference and a description of the issue. Do not send full card details. We will investigate, attempt to resolve the problem where appropriate, and coordinate any applicable refund with Polar. Polar may also issue refunds under its buyer terms and payment-network rules.

Nothing in these terms removes a refund, withdrawal, chargeback, warranty, or other consumer right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Sandbox transactions involve no real payment and therefore have no monetary refund.

6. Your content and permission to display it

You retain the rights you hold in your brand name, logo, links, descriptions, and other submitted content. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload it and allow its use on PixelPlot, including permission from any person whose personal information it contains.

You grant PixelPlot a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, resize, reproduce, and publicly display that content as needed to operate your plot and the board. This permission does not transfer ownership of your trademarks or authorize unrelated advertising. It ends when the content is removed from the service, except for limited backup, transaction, security, and legal records described in the Privacy Policy.

Board content is public. Visitors can view, share, screenshot, and follow your links. Do not upload confidential information. Other people’s websites and content are their responsibility; a listing on the board is not our endorsement.

If you use optional AI building generation, your description and extracted logo colors are sent to the generation provider. Outputs may be inaccurate, similar to other outputs, or unsuitable for your intended use. Review them before publishing; we do not promise exclusive rights or that an output is free of third-party claims.

7. Acceptable use and moderation

Do not use PixelPlot to:

  • Publish unlawful content, infringe intellectual property, impersonate others, or disclose private information without permission.
  • Promote fraud, phishing, malware, sexual exploitation, threats, harassment, hateful abuse, or illegal goods or services.
  • Manipulate reservations, payment verification, counters, or rankings, evade access controls, or disrupt the service with abusive automated traffic.
  • Link to content that violates these rules or Polar’s Acceptable Use Policy for transactions handled by Polar.

We may reject, hide, or remove violating content, cancel invalid claims, and restrict accounts where reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or enforcement of these terms. Where practicable, we will explain the action and allow you to contact support for review. A hidden listing does not automatically release its occupied plot.

To report harmful content or infringement, email support with the plot or page URL, your contact details, and enough information to assess the report. Mandatory consumer remedies remain available.

8. Availability, changes, and account closure

We may maintain, update, or change PixelPlot and its catalog. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, a particular board layout, or that experimental features will remain available. We will give reasonable notice of material changes or closure where practicable and honor obligations and remedies that applicable law requires.

You can stop using PixelPlot at any time. To request account closure or removal of board content, contact support; removing a Clerk account alone does not automatically remove stored plots, public assets, or transaction records. Ending access does not remove obligations already incurred or rights that survive by law.

9. Warranties and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, PixelPlot is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free or that a digital display will achieve a commercial result. You are responsible for the legality of your content and the websites you link to.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost business opportunities arising from use of PixelPlot. These terms do not exclude responsibility for fraud, deliberate misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability, guarantee, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Updates, questions, and disputes

We may update these terms and will change the date above. For material changes affecting existing accounts or claims, we will provide reasonable notice through the service or account contact details and request agreement where required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove rights from a completed transaction.

Please contact [email protected] first so we can try to resolve a dispute. These terms do not impose a mandatory arbitration clause, waive class-action rights, or restrict the courts, governing law, or consumer protections available to you under applicable law. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
